About:
A black-and-white homage to Alice in Wonderland done for my Illustration studio class. I wanted to make a muddled journey -- difficult to navigate and from the perspective relative to Alice. Alice as she is (in identity) is unknown. This was an attempt to focus more upon the psychological journey without strictly refrencing previous images and only the accompanying text by Lewis Carroll. My inspiration came from researching the amazon jungle; a world that crawls with life forms easily overlooked. The python which writhes underwater may seem nothing but a overgrown root until investigated further -- one may not know what they are exactly looking at so that the danger and intrigue is inescapable. The strange camoflage and patterns relect an alien way of life among these animals and plants... my hope was to deliver Alice in a new way with a flair not meant to be strictly disturbing/gothic/ or victorian. I hope you will appreciate it.

My favorite of the batch. I can't really describe it, but this has such a distinctive feel...
Anyway, it's superb. I really enjoyed seeing the whole project.
I very much enjoyed all of these illustrations..this one is one of my favorites for sure, the way you've communicated the table is what really grabs my attention. It's so stark and bold, that dark area surrounding the cups rally seems to communicate something significant, like a stain or stream of dark liquid. I like the way you did their profiles at the head of the composition too, this piece is very strong.
it is interesting in your style how not only the lines but the *shapes themselves* seem to meander about~ this is a rare and beautiful thing and a delight to see. the way youve positioned all the cups so clattered together and seeping through is lovely. the silhouettes are macabre and unsettling
i think this one is my favourite out ff the serious. very dark - i can't get over how creepy your artwork is, i seem to stumble upon new things every time i look at your works again

Your style of drawing is so interesting! What kind of medium do you used on the alice series? I think you manage to pass what you were trying, as your description comparing your drawing to the mistery of Amazonia. It's not easy to capture everything looking just once, and the atmosphere makes it even more misterious.
